Food Production

A wide range of food industry roles will be open to learners completing the Food Production apprenticeship.

Overview

Our apprenticeship in Food Production is perfect for a career in the hospitality industry, including roles as chefs and kitchen assistants. A wide range of available units will give students the knowledge required to prepare and produce basic dishes, among other relevant food production skills. This apprenticeship is available at Level 2.

Framework

Funding band: £2,000

Length: Minimum 12 months

Sample Units:

  • Produce basic fish dishes
  • Produce basic meat dishes
  • Produce basic poultry dishes
  • Produce basic vegetable dishes
  • Maintain an efficient use of food resources
  • Maintain an efficient use of resources in the kitchen
  • Prepare, operate and clean specialist food preparation and cooking equipment
  • Liaise with care team to ensure that an individual’s nutritional needs are met

  • Hotel receptionist
  • Chef
  • Front of House
  • Kitchen porter/assistant
  • Fast food assistant
  • Bartender and waiter/waitress
