Course Description

Please note: We hope to have this course running once again as soon as it is safe to once again open our training centres.

This fully accredited course will give you the knowledge and practical skills to work in a care home, in domiciliary care, in community support, or a childcare setting.

The course runs over four weeks:

  • Two weeks full time, Monday to Friday, 9:30am – 4:30pm
  • Two weeks part time, Monday to Friday, 9:30am – 1:00pm

The course covers:

  • The Fundamental Standards of Care
  • Person-centered Care
  • Protection and Safeguarding
  • Health and Safety
  • Dignity and Respect
  • Awareness of the range of service provisions and roles within the sector
  • Developing sector-specific communication skills

  • You'll earn a Level 1 certificate in Introduction to Health, Social Care and Children's and Young People's Settings (QCF) from NCFE.
Course Cost
  • This is a FREE course for anyone aged 19+ who is claiming Universal Credit, JSA, ESA, income support or other state benefits. Please contact us for further information.
