Learner Background

I have been unemployed for close to four months. Previously, I worked as a Temporary Personal Assistant supporting a project for a large global corporate company.

I was disappointed when the project was terminated due to CoVid, particularly as I had really enjoyed the role. I felt concerned and apprehensive when I became unemployed given the current high unemployment rate and the financial impact it would have on me.

How Strive Training helped

I didn’t have a huge amount of information about the course and consequently didn’t know what to expect, but my first impression of the Employability Level 1 course was one of pleasant surprise.

The tutor, Janet, was great.  She used humour to put us all at ease which created a comfortable and relaxed learning environment. (She was an absolute legend!)

An added benefit was not having to commute into London for the course.

I was also impressed with the Employability Plus portal. I’ve found it really useful and I particularly like the fact that I can easily create CVs and Cover letters and store different versions to send directly to recruiters.

Learner Outcome

The information on how to apply for the Work Coach roles/Civil Service application process was invaluable to me and completing the course has definitely left me much better placed to apply for Work Coach roles, roles within the Civil Service and in fact jobs in general with a lot more confidence than I’d had previously.

My experience with Strive Training has been extremely positive and I would not hesitate to recommend them, in fact, I have recommended Strive Training to a couple of people already! I would certainly consider Strive Training in the future for my training needs as my overall experience has been encouraging and has contributed towards my feeling more optimistic about my job search.

I would like to take the opportunity to thank Strive Training for making a challenging experience that much more bearable and equipping me with the knowledge and skills to increase the possibility of a successful and hopefully speedy positive outcome to my job search.
