Business Relationship Manager

Reporting to the Head of Business Relationships, this role will have overall responsibility for the generation of recruitment and progression opportunities for Strive’s non-devolved services, including building and sustaining successful relationships with employers, referral partners, stakeholders, and individuals. The purpose of this role is to build, maintain and manage effective relationships with all partners and stakeholders (actual and potential) and to identify and obtain new business opportunities in existing and emerging markets.

DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Be directly responsible for the growth of specified non-devolved areas to meet new and emerging markets and ensure Strive has the capacity to be agile and quickly diversify its offer, to respond to the priorities of partners and stakeholders.
  • Responsible for the generation of referrals for all our home learning and virtual provisions to meet business planning and contractual budgets/targets/profiles.
  • Establish employer engagement and partnerships for the successful delivery of VLE and SWAP courses.
  • Support marketing, advertising and promotion planning for all Strive provision in line with Strive’s branding, supported by Head of Business Relationships and marketing team.
  • Responsible for the recruitment of learners, boosting referrals, and supporting outreach in JCP and other referral partners as and when required with the objective of increasing referrals to our courses.
  • Supporting Centres with day-to-day general administration including learner inductions, employer visits and progression of learners as and when required.
  • Be responsible for the management of existing, and development of new relationships with partners, to include DWP, Work & Health Providers, Councils as well as other stakeholders to grow our training provisions.
  • Secure opportunities to promote the profile of Strive through regional networking and other influencing opportunities, by attending council meetings, DWP meetings and other business opportunities.
  • Establish sustainable partnerships and relationships that generate learner referrals
  • Create a network of employers from a range of different sectors and regions to support our current provision and the development of our curriculum. This would include linking employers to Strive courses, creating, and securing interview and job opportunities for Strive learners linked to our courses.
  • Creating and supporting SWAP opportunities for our learners, by establishing employer links to connect work experience & guaranteed interviews alongside our training progrmammes that employers will benefit from as well as our learners.
  • Record, analyse and report to Head of BR on activities and outcomes for SWAP programmes and any other Business development initiatives as and when required.
  • Identifying business development opportunities to help develop the business. This could include initiatives such as full cost courses, corporate training or any other opportunities that might be relevant to Strive.
  • Reviewing local job opportunity developments and skills gaps/ employer needs. Assessing these and feeding them back to Head of Business Relationships to inform our curriculum development.
  • Generation of referrals to meet all contractual requirements.
  • Building a portfolio of Employers across a diverse range of sectors to meet demand
  • Ensure timely interventions are put in place to meet contractual obligations and profiles.
  • Conduct presentations on behalf of Strive to boost referrals, as and when required.
  • Attend team meetings as and when required.
  • Ensure any safeguarding concerns are escalated to the Designated Safeguarding Lead.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety Legislation and all other relevant legislation.
  • Undertake any other administrative duties commensurate with the post.

  • Sound IT knowledge including strong capability using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel etc.

  • Knowledge and understanding of the wider social economic factors affecting stakeholders in non-devolved areas, in accessing and delivering learning and skills provisions to meet government organizational priorities and targets.
