A really good and enjoyment course. Overwhelming at first as not use to a mon-fri working week, but are tutor made it enjoyable and worthwhile. Very happy with my experience.

Strive is really amazing my tutor is called Tina and honestly she is the best tutor I have ever had. She is so approachable and patient with everyone. She teaches you in a way you can understand the work. I never feel stuck or unknowledgeable about anything and if I don’t understand something she will explain it as many times as it takes for me to fully grasp it. Thank you Miss Tina for teaching me and my group we appreciate you.

Excellent trainer!!!

The course environment on Zoom was positive and our tutor was friendly, patient and engaging. I appreciate how she made each of us feel comfortable to share and actively encouraged participation. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this course if you already have a good or strong understanding of the Civil Service recruitment process. This course should ideally be marketed toward those either completely new to the Civil Service or job applications in general because much of the material covered is relatively well known. I was surprised and disappointed that vital elements to include in Civil Service applications - such as the behaviours - were very briefly mentioned in passing, considering that these are the one of main criteria in which you are being assessed! Many elements of the activities were unnecessarily tedious and almost juvenile for an adult learning group. For example, one task was to identify modes of transport to get you to the interview which involved writing ‘bus, train, tube, walk’ into a box and the route you would take (step by step) from leaving your home to arriving at the office. Activities like these wasted time that could have been spent covering the behaviours, considering the course is 5 days long. The requirement to find 2 Civil Service jobs also to apply for as part of the course, slowed things down and caused a lot of unnecessary stress. It would have been better to have included non-CS jobs from the outset too as the material covered on how to submit applications ended up (overall) being more applicable to non-CS roles, considering that the behaviours were never explained. That said, there were many helpful links, feedback on written tasks, downloads and resources that were shared which have been amazing, so thank you!! You also get permanent access to the EmployabilityPlus platform where you can re-design your CV & cover letters which is great. Strive also offer post course support where you can get further advice on applications you are submitting and there is a jobs board you can look through as well. Ultimately, the course was nice, but I suggest skipping if you already have good CS application & interview knowledge and experience.

I had an excellent experience with Strive Training! The course material was well-structured, fascinating, and extremely useful, delivering both academic information and practical skills that I could use right away. The lecturer Trina were extremely professional, attentive, and passionate about ensuring that all participants understood the subject. She also created an interactiveand funny learning environment, making complicated concepts easier to understand.

Excellent tutors, staff, and courses!

I feel I already knew all of the skills that were taught and the sections I wanted more feedback on, such as behaviours and interview responses, were not covered appropriately. I did appreciate the insight into psychometric tests and found reviewing answers as a group through an anonymous poll was very effective. I wouldve liked feedback specific to my behaviours and competencies, which were barely covered, and all the interview questions I answered to know if what I had written was correct and to a high quality. I am however, grateful they provide lifetime access to exclusive websites tailored to improve CV's and cover letters and know they provide 121 support after the course which I will try out as that may be more useful to gain feedback on my preferred areas.

Great service. I came into the course not knowing fully well if they would be able to help but after completing the course i am very confident in doing my next interviews. Thanks Strive team and especially Trina my tutor.

Fantastic course and amazing teacher

Strive training was very useful. I am especially finding the psychometric tests practice useful as I can misinterpret questions, or at least feel as if I do. I have also found explanation of the STAR technique useful.

The course was challenging and delivered at a great pace, the exceptional characteristic was the level of feedback that I recieved from my Tutor. This made the good course into a great course. I would highly recommend this course, it helped me become more confident, empowered me to apply for positions and encouraged me to push the level of jobs I was applying for.
