My name is Juliet Afejuku-Aganbi. I live in Catford, in the London Borough of Lewisham.
I have just completed the Home Learning course on Safeguarding, Prevent and British Values – Level 2.
I was looking for a course to develop my knowledge, enhance my career and support me in my job search.
After all, I’m seeking new employment opportunities in social services, the community or the legal system.
The opportunity to be able to learn remotely was absolutely vital to me as a result of the Coronavirus
Covid-19 pandemic. This meant, I could continue with my studies, using various available Information technology tools that would enable me to keep in contact with my assessors and learning support advisers.
I was used to classroom learning and training, so honestly I was a little concerned with learning remotely. However, all my fears, anxiety and uncertainty quickly disappeared, because from day one of my course, I received and felt supported and guided.
My wonderful assessor, Ms Shani Siddiqui, set up a Whatsapp group for all her learners, so we could discuss, brainstorm and share ideas about the course and other issues too.
The course provided me with all the information and learning materials I required to develop my knowledge.
Additionally, the course was free/fully funded for me as I am unemployed. This meant to me, I was able to learn, develop my career and better chance of employment, but without the attachment of financial stress.
Also, the course program gave me the flexibility and opportunity to study when I wanted to and from
anywhere. This meant I could study in the mornings, afternoon, evening and late nights too.
The course materials were available to me 24 hours, 7 days a week.
I must mention my assessor provided me with outstanding 1-to-1 support, information, advise and guidance.
In addition, the course helped me to prepare for my very next interview which was as a Lead Safeguarding Officer.
I would like to say that I could not have asked for a better course, and at the right time.
I have already recommended Strive Training to friends and family. Strive Training ethos to training and learning is second to none. Strive Training provides full training manuals, guide, support while learning, employment coordinator support, and after completing course review and contact.
The knowledge I gained has been invaluable to me in my daily life, in my job applications, with preparation for my interviews and more importantly, I have applied my learning and experience at my interviews.
This has in a very short space of time helped me to get a job that I’m very happy with!
Thank you Strive Training!
