I was between jobs and a coach. My helpful JobCentre coach suggested I apply for DWP Work Coach roles, and the best way to prepare was to take a Civil Service S.W.A.P course with Strive Training. The course would cover the ins and outs of the application process, in addition to boosting my general job-search and job-application skills.
I was very impressed with the course.
Granted, I wasn’t concerned about remote learning because I have taken continuing education courses at other institutions, which also entailed long-distance online learning.
However, what I found unique and especially attractive was the stress-free learning environment that was provided where I could pace myself according to my own schedule.
In addition, there was always one-to-one support throughout, and even beyond, the course.
Studying with Strive gave me a sense of accomplishment. It can get a bit wearying from electronically submitting applications and CVs each day for long stretches of time, wondering as to the efficacy. There was a structured environment each day from 9:30 to 4:30 with ample break time to regenerate; it was stimulating to be learning new material; and by being actively engaged with tutors and other attendees, it made for a more socially beneficial time than can be had from being solely engaged with submitting a plethora of applications / CVs each week.
The benefits of working with such warm and knowledgeable tutors as Hannah Woodward and Charlotte Meston made me look forward to start time each day during the week over which the course ran. There were so many benefits, both foreseen and not, that were garnered by the end of the week and gave me a substantial “second wind” to continue cracking on.
The course proved a great networking experience. Once introduced to Strive, there were then so many further resources imparted by the tutor during the course as well as opportunities for further learning with Strive.
Further great advantages include that Strive’s courses are fully accredited and beneficial to add to your CV once completed.
I’m now feeling energised and confident to apply for Civil Service roles.
I would wholeheartedly recommend Strive Training to others because of the advantages mentioned above as well as the degree of comfort gotten from both the tutors and fellow course attendees.
