The Hackney Big Breakfast Showcase 2026

Strive Training was delighted to welcome local partners, employers and community organisations to our Hackney Big Breakfast Showcase 2026, held at OKN1 in Hoxton.

The morning brought together Jobcentre teams, council representatives and referral partners for a collaborative conversation about how we can continue supporting Hackney residents into meaningful employment.

The event highlighted our Hackney provision, funded by Hackney Council, and showcased the programmes currently supporting residents across the borough — including Preparing for Caring, All Star Hospitality, and Civil Service Employability.

Learners at the heart of the morning

One of the most powerful parts of the event came from learners who shared their journeys.

From rebuilding confidence after time out of work to successfully transitioning into new industries, their stories reminded everyone in the room that training is about more than qualifications. It is about restoring belief, building resilience and creating genuine opportunity.

Hearing directly from learners about the support, structure and encouragement they received brought the impact of the programmes to life.

Employers sharing real opportunities

We were also grateful to hear from employer partners who spoke about what they look for in candidates and how collaboration with Strive Training is helping them recruit locally. By working closely with employers — including guaranteed interview pathways within certain programmes — we ensure that training remains aligned with real workforce needs. This partnership approach means learners are not simply gaining certificates. They are building practical skills, industry insight and direct routes into employment.

A collaborative Hackney effort

Angel Myrie (Ingeus) and Deborah Dada (CCHG) also shared their perspective on partnership working across the borough, highlighting the importance of coordinated support for residents navigating the job market.

Johnny Phillips, Managing Director of Strive Training, said:

“When training providers, referral partners and employers work together, outcomes improve. Our Hackney provision is designed to create real pathways into employment, and events like this show the strength of that collaboration.”

The room was filled with conversation, connection and a shared commitment to supporting Hackney residents into sustainable work.

We are grateful to everyone who attended and contributed to making the morning such a success!
