As an ever-evolving and progressive organisation with thousands of open job opportunities, the Civil Service is quickly becoming a go-to career destination for Strive Training’s learners!

In October 2020, we teamed up with the Civil Service to create a virtual 5-day sector-based work academy programme (SWAP) to provide our motivated learners with a fast-track into working for the UK government. The resulting Civil Service Employability course has been incredibly successful, attracting hundreds of learners and leading to more than 300 (and counting!) new careers within the Civil Service!

Over the course of five days, learners explore what it’s like to work for the Civil Service, while also developing life-long job searching techniques and earning a qualification in Employability Skills. The course provides learners with essential skills and knowledge, including:

• How to improve their CV, job application and job interview skills
• An inside look into the Civil Service’s recruitment process
• First-hand feedback from Civil Servant’s about working for the government
• Tailored advice and support in navigating the Civil Service’s recruitment process

With more than 300 departments and agencies, 25 different professions, and more than 3,500 open vacancies, the Civil Service has a spot for nearly everyone! There’s no better place to make a difference for the community, while building a sustainable career for the future.
