Event Recap: Strive Training Celebrates Partners & Showcases Recent Success at Croydon Partner Showcase

< back to news

On 9th November, we were delighted to welcome nearly 50 partners from across London to our 2022 Croydon Partner Showcase. During the morning event, we celebrated the ongoing support of our amazing partners and highlighted how we’re helping job seekers across London find gainful employment.

The event couldn’t have come at a more relevant time, as employers continue to recruit and compete for talent, especially when it comes to hard-to-fill vacancies. According to the latest CIPD Labour Market Outlook, 46% of recruiting employers have hard-to-fill vacancies, which are most common in transport and storage, voluntary, and healthcare sectors.

During the showcase, we shared a number of ways that we’re helping job seekers tap into employment opportunities, including our employer-led sector-based work academy programmes (SWAPs), designed to equip learners with the required skills to pursue employment in these in-demand sectors. Partners had the opportunity to explore more about our SWAP programmes, as well as hear from some of our employer partners, including:

  • Logistics and Warehousing SWAP with Waitrose and Class 1 Personnel: A 2-week live virtual course designed to prepare learners to pursue a career in the transport and storage sector, including a guaranteed interview for a Waitrose Delivery Driver role.

  • Hospitality SWAP with Sodexo: A 2-week online course that provides learners with insights into working for one of the UK’s largest hospitality employers and how to apply for a number of vacancies across London.

  • Customer Service SWAP with AMT Coffee: An engaging classroom-based course where learners can gain relevant customer service skills and discover a new career path as a barista or manager with AMT Coffee.

  • Health and Social Care SWAP: A 4-week course providing learners with the knowledge and skills to pursue a rewarding career in a care home, domiciliary care, community support or childcare – and the opportunity to hear from top employers such as Achieve Together, Lifeways Group, Optalis, Home Instead, and more!

Partners also had the chance to explore our evolving range of virtual live courses – including specially designed courses for those aged 50+ – and learn more about our Employment Team services, such as tailored career advice, application support, and more.
