Course Description

This is a four day live course that will refocus and revitalise your job search. You’ll gain tailored and practical career ideas based on your unique personality and transferable skills. You’ll also learn how to boost your CV, LinkedIn strategy, and job interview skills to land you your dream job. 

By the end of this course, you’ll be able to:

    • Create a clear, concise and professional CV that will help you stand out amongst hiring managers
    • Discover the right career path for you based on your interests, skills and experience and put your personal career plan into action
    • Overcome your nerves and ace your next job interview!

Your daily Zoom session, with our experienced and dynamic tutor, runs from 9:30am to 4:30pm (with a one hour lunch break).

Course Content
  • Unit 1: Applying for a job

To start, you’ll learn how to overcome common challenges in applying for job openings. You’ll find out what employers look for in job applications, CVs and cover letters and how to professionally present information about yourself in various job application formats. Plus, you’ll get inside tips on crafting a winning CV and have the opportunity to create a brilliant one for your job search using free Digital CV technology!

  • Unit 2: Safe learning in the workplace

In this unit, you’ll explore how to support health and safety in the workplace. You’ll conduct a careful examination of the risks that can exist within a work environment and weigh the precautions for preventing harm. Additionally, you’ll take a look at the impact of current legislation on health and safety in the workplace and have the opportunity to create your own workplace risk assessment.

  • Unit 3: Searching for a job

During this unit, you’ll develop the skills and knowledge to breathe new life into your job search. You’ll uncover how your own unique skills, interests and experiences can open up career opportunities that you may not have previously considered! Also, you’ll discover the best places to search for suitable jobs, how to match your skills to job descriptions and gain tips for standing out to recruiters and hiring managers. Plus you’ll gain free, lifetime access to our career direction app!

  • Unit 4: Interview skills

In this final unit, you’ll master the skills to ace your next job interview. From dressing to impress and researching potential interview questions to articulating your thoughts with clarity and confidence, you’ll explore all of the key elements of a successful job interview. You’ll also have the opportunity to practice answering interview questions, as well prepare a presentation for a potential job interview.

Are you eligible to complete this qualification for free?

This qualification is 100% government funded if:

  • You were born before the 31st August 2005
  • You must currently live in England. However, anyone living in the following areas is not eligible for funding: Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, Greater Manchester, Liverpool City Region, Tees Valley, West Midlands and West of England
  • Must live in the UK or EEA:
    • If you are outside of London: You have lived in the EEA for the last 3 years (unless you have been given a special Visa/Residence permits that gives you the permanent right to remain)
    • If you are within Greater London: You must have permission to reside in the UK for the next 12 months
  • Are unemployed:
    • If you are outside of London: Can provide evidence of being in receipt of benefits (subject to eligibility)
    • If you are within Greater London: There is no need to be in receipt of benefits. However, you must be actively seeking work and available to start work (subject to eligibility)
  • Can provide Identifications and relevant documentation as required
  • For Level 2 courses: If on the 31st of August 2022, you were aged between 19-23, you need to have gained a full level 2 qualification (e.g. five or more GCSE/O-Levels at grades A* – C / 4 – 9, one A-Level, two/three AS-Levels, five or more CSE grade 1’s, GNVQ Intermediate, QCF Diploma Level 2)

Of course. All our courses are accredited courses and you will receive a nationally recognised certification on achievement. You will receive a digital version of your certificate, inline with our commitment to sustainability.
