Course Description

This qualification will create new opportunities for you in the fast-growing logistics and warehousing sector. You’ll learn new skills, plus meet one of the UK’s best warehouse and logistics recruitment agencies: Class 1 Personnel.

By the end of this course, you will

    • understand stock control and the procedures for moving, storing and replenishing stock
    • be familiar with the complexities of safe manual handling 
    • understand how to receive goods correctly and safety
    • be able to identify different problems that could arise in the workplace, and know how to consider possible solutions
    • appreciate what makes a good working team, and how to apply your own strengths to your role
    • understand the process of  sorting goods or materials for recycling or disposal

Each day you will have two live, interactive Zoom sessions with our experienced and dynamic tutor: From 9:30am - 12:30pm and 1:30pm - 4:30pm.

Course Content
  • Unit 1: Understand how to move, handle and store stock

Understand stock control and the procedures for moving, storing and replenishing stock.

  • Unit 2: Problem solving at work

Looking at the different problems that may arise in a place of work, how they can be solved and the recognition of possible solutions to a specific problem.

  • Unit 3: Working in a team

You’ll understand the characteristics of a good working team, appreciating the strengths and contributions different people can contribute.. . They will participate in a team, whilst demonstrating strengths and the ability to value contribution from other.

  • Unit 4: Sort goods and materials for recycling or disposal in a logistics environment

You’ll learn about sorting of goods and materials for recycling. This includes how to identify problems with the recycling or disposal of goods and materials.

  • Unit 5: Moving or handling goods manually in logistics facilities

This unit is about the movement and/or handling of goods. It deals with manual handling and identifying hazards that might occur in moving or handling goods safely.

  • Unit 6: Receive Goods in a Logistics Environment

Learn how to check the safety of work areas and equipment to be used, ensuring that goods match information specifications and ensure that goods are unloaded safely in accordance with instructions.

Are you eligible to complete this qualification for free?

This qualification is 100% government funded if:

  • You were born before the 31st August 2003
  • You must currently live in England. However, anyone living in the following areas is not eligible for funding: Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, Greater Manchester, Liverpool City Region, Tees Valley, West Midlands and West of England
  • You have lived in the European Union for the last 3 years (unless you have have been given a special Visa/Residence permits that gives you the permanent right to remain)
  • Are Unemployed and can provide evidence (Subject to eligibility)
  • Can provide Identifications and relevant documentation as required
  • If on the 31st of August 2021, you were aged between 19-23, you need to have gained a full level 2 qualification (e.g. five or more GCSE/O-Levels at grades A* – C / 4 – 9, one A-Level, two/three AS-Levels, five or more CSE grade 1’s, GNVQ Intermediate, QCF Diploma Level 2)

You can enroll on one course at a time, but you can do as many as you like to achieve your career goals. We are happy to give you information, advice and guidance on any courses you wish to complete.
Of course. All our courses are accredited courses and you will receive a nationally recognized certification on achievement.
All our Home Learning courses are assignment based, you will need to complete assignments for each of the units of the qualifications and submit them to your assessor.

The general certification process is a minimum of 12 weeks. Due to the pandemic, the Awarding Bodies service has been impacted which can cause a delay. We are working hard to distribute all the certificates that we have received in a timely manner and we will send a text as soon as the certificates are ready.
