I’ve been working at Heathrow Airport as a Sales Consultant for the past five years, but the epidemic hit our industry even harder than most. And like so many at Heathrow, I was made redundant. 

I’ve since been forced to register with my local Jobcentre. 

It’s now been five months since I’ve been unemployed – I’ve never before been in this situation before.

I really enjoyed my time at Heathrow where I had the chance to work with people from all over the world – but now I need to look for something new.  

My Work Coach recommended that I attend Strive Training’s Civil Service Employability SWAP. She mentioned that this course would help prepare me for potential opportunities in the Civil Service sector.

The concept of a Zoom-based course definitely intrigued me. I was a little anxious how it would work, but day-by-day I adapted. It was nice to attend a course but not have to wear a mask! 

The best part of the course is how well it was structured and organised. The level of professionalism was fantastic. I really enjoyed listening to Maria Theodorou and taking notes of her key advice and recommendations. I found her extremely helpful (she definitely knew what she was talking about!) – it’s important to be surrounded by a well qualified tutor like her. 

The other area I loved about this course is the opportunity to share experiences and views with other individuals who are in the same position as you. Exchanging with other individuals and learning at the same time was the perfect combination.

Lastly, completing a fully-accredited course that’s fully funded gives you less headache and stress.

I’d definitely recommend Strive Training to anyone. Infact, I’ve already suggested the course to some of my former colleagues!

My CV is now much more improved and looks really professional.

I’ve also learned how to successfully conduct a face to face interview by applying the STAR Method. I have only realised the amazing benefits of the course once I started noticing more responses from recruiters when I was applying for jobs.

I can confidently say that this course helped me and gave me the tools to increase my chance to find a job. I cannot measure the responses, but clearly, I can see the difference between before and after completing the course!
