I was unemployed for around 6 months before starting Strive and had lost motivation in job searching given the climate of the job market as a result of Covid-19.

My previous job was as a 360 recruitment consultant in London.

Strive was recommended to me by my work coach to seek help in an application to work within the Civil Service.

I took the Employability Course, it was a great opportunity to refresh my knowledge on how to attract employers and stand out from hundreds of applicants. It came at the perfect time because I had become bored of my job search and disheartened by the lack of response. This course was a way of feeling proactive in a different way by upskilling my employability.

Learning remotely was not new to me as I had experience working from home in the first lockdown so I was able to adapt well to working in a space where I wouldn’t be distracted or uncomfortable. It was also a great opportunity to meet new people despite the lockdown.

Strive courses are completely free which was a huge advantage to me and made me think that I had nothing to lose by enrolling. The remote learning was delivered really well and in an engaging manner. I have to thank Antonia for keeping me motivated and for being such an approachable tutor throughout the week. I was able to complete the tasks in my own time with no pressure, knowing I had the support of Antonia if I needed it.

One of the main benefits of taking a Strive course was that I learned how to expertly tailor my CV to the roles I was applying to and match my skills to job roles. This led to me finding a new role as an employment coach where I can use my skills and experience to my best ability.

Strive Training is a great platform to enhance existing skills and the delivery of courses is unmatched.

The staff at Strive continue to stay engaged after the course has been completed and offer continuous support that everyone can benefit from.

The course helped me get motivated and also made me realise to not apply for any job, but for a role I wanted to stay in. Finding roles that fit well with my future goals was not easy, but after acquiring new skills and tips thanks to Strive, I was able to find roles suited to my experience. I have now started a new job and I am really enjoying it and find that I’m able to apply what I learned in the Employability course to this day in my work.
