I took a course with Strive after being made redundant due to the covid pandemic. My previous job had entailed making parts for the aircraft industry.

I had been unemployed for 6 months and as I have always worked all my life, it was a big change for me. I am 58 years old so I really felt like I was being thrown into unknown territory. I also had to sign onto job seekers which I found a bit daunting.

I signed up to Strive and chose a warehousing and logistics level 2 as I have experience in warehousing from my previous employment.

When I first received the information for the Strive course it was explained to me in a clear way by the team. I almost felt like was back at school, only this time the course was online and a new experience for me.

I was assigned my assessor (Kavita) she introduced herself via e-mail and explained fully what the course entailed, due dates of assessments, what was expected from me and how to achieve these results.

I struggled with the first assignment, but then Kavita sent it back with help and advise on how to answer the questions. l reread the assignment and followed her advice and I was able to successfully complete the work.

Kavita instructed me on how to clearly form sentences and paragraphs and how to successfully complete my assignments.

As I am a more mature student, I feel that I have learnt a lot by doing this course and have very much enjoyed being a part of Strive.

I would have no hesitation to recommend Strive to anyone who wants to achieve better prospects. Kavita was fantastic from start to finish, enabling me to pass this course.

One of the main benefits of this course has been enriching my knowledge and it will benefit me as I hopefully start a new job in the next few weeks.
