Lesson times Your daily Zoom session, with our experienced and dynamic tutor, runs from 9:30am to 4:30pm (with a one hour lunch break).

We’re collaborating with two of the UK’s best hospitality employers. This two-week, home-based course will prepare you with the specific skills that they’re looking for in new recruits, and each graduate will receive a guaranteed interview with Sodexo – one of the UK’s great employers.

You’ll hear directly from their recruiting team about their vacancies and gain exclusive insights. Plus, our specialist employment team is here to help you all the way through the job application process.

Qualification: You will receive a Level 1 Certificate in Occupational Workplace Studies (Hospitality). In addition, if you achieve full course attendance you’ll have the opportunity to receive a free Food Hygiene certificate.

Plus we’ll provide post-course employment assistance: get access to specially sourced job opportunities, and 1-to-1 advice on career direction, CVs, job applications, and more!

By the end of this course, you'll have:

  • Understand how establishments differ within the hospitality and catering industry and what makes them unique
  • Maintain a safe and healthy workplace and correctly follow safety and security procedures

Course Content

U1
In this introductory unit, you’ll explore essential customer service concepts and uncover the benefits and importance of good customer service in the hospitality industry.
U2
In Unit 2, you’ll outline what constitutes good customer service, and explore examples of how to provide an excellent customer experience depending on your customer. In addition, you’ll develop techniques for ensuring positive customer communication.
U3
During this unit, you’ll explore the different sectors of the catering and hospitality industry. You’ll find out about the various types of hospitality and catering establishments, their main features, and the various job roles available to you. Plus, you’ll learn about the relevant qualifications, training and experience required to work within this exciting sector.
U4
You’ll discover how to maintain personal health and hygiene in a safe and secure working environment. You’ll learn about proper workwear in the hospitality industry and how to identify any potential health and safety hazards and deal with them correctly.
U5
Understand the different characteristics in a good team and recognise how each of these helps improve team performance. Know your own strengths in a team and recognise the strength of others. Be able to set goals and be supportive of others and respect their views. Review your own performance in a team and identify if there are ways in which you can improve on this.
